Feeding a Hungry Planet - free online course

Our research partners Rothamsted, along with Wageningen University, this week launched a free online course featuring world leading experts in agriculture, nutrition and sustainability.

Rothamsted's Grants and KE Manager, Melanie Wright, tells us more.

Innovative Farmers members and followers may be interested in our free resource on sustainable agriculture and nutrition.

Feeding a Hungry Planet: Agriculture, Nutrition and Sustainability asks,

  • How do we ensure a healthy and sustainable diet for our growing world population?
  • How should agriculture adapt – or stay the same – to support the Sustainable Development Goals?

This course explores issues in the agricultural sector such as food security, malnutrition, ecosystem management, and the responsible production and consumption of food.

Learn more from researchers about how our food systems, technological advancement in food production, and rural development impact the mission of sustainably feeding the billions of people on our planet.

There are short videos, readings, and assessments released weekly, so you can learn and test your acquiring knowledge of sustainable agriculture and nutrition. The course also has a large forum of students to create discussion.

The course content has been released this Monday (16th April), and enrollment is available now on the course page. And if you want to get a taste for the course, watch the introductory video chapter led by Rothamsted Research's Achim Doberman here.
